SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region’s Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Monday ordered the security forces to arrest a perpetrator who killed members of a family in Chamchamal, west of Sulaimani.
A man attacked the house of his father-in-law in Chamchamal district at 6:50 a.m. on Monday, the first day of Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
A member of the family said the man shot dead four people including two of his sisters, a brother and a nephew and wounded two others including his mother and a nephew.
“I have ordered all the security forces to arrest the killer of the family members in Chamchamal as soon as possible,” Talabani said in a statement.
“I emphasize that any party or person in any position who shelters and helps the suspect will be seen as a participant in this disgusting crime.”
