Fire at displacement camp in Zakho wounds one: reporter

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A fire broke out at a displacement camp in Zakho early on Sunday, wounding one.

Esta Media Network reporter in Duhok said the three tents were destroyed due to the fire broke out at Chamshko camp for displaced people from Sinjar at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The camp was built in 2014 for Yazidis displaced after Islamic State (ISIS) militants took over Sinjar. It hosts about 5,000 Yazidi families.

It was the third fire incident in Zakho this month. On April 15, the Bajid Kandala camp caught fired in the administration.

On April 13, a fire that broke out at Chamshko camp killed a 27-year-old-man and wounded seven others.

In March, at least three tents were destroyed and two others seriously damaged at Chamshko camp due to fire outbreak.

In January, a six-year-old girl was killed in a fire that broke out at Esyan displacement camp in Sheikhan district.
