Magnitude 4.3 quake hits Kurdistan Region

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 was registered in the Kurdistan Region on Monday night, with no immediate reports of injuries or damage, according to authorities.

The directorate of Meteorology and Seismology in Chamchamal said the epicenter was near the city, west of Sulaimani.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center said the earthquake has a magnitude of 4.4 at a depth of 40 kilometers.

The epicenter was located in 48 kilometers west of Sulaimani and 17 kilometers northeast of Chamchamal, according to the EMSC.

The earthquake was also felt in Sulaimani and Raparin administration, according to Esta Media Network’s reporters.
