SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkish warplanes carried out airstrikes in a village in Sinjar district on Sunday, a local official said.

Director of Sinune sub-district Khudeda Chuki told Esta Media Network that Turkish fighter jets bombed Bara village in west of sub-district at 08:00 p.m. on Sunday.

A fighter of the Sinjar Resistance Units (YBS) was wounded and a number of vehicles were damaged in the airstrike, the local official said.

Turkish army intermittently carries out airstrikes and artillery shelling against suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) on the Kurdistan Region’s border areas with Turkey and Iran.

On August 25, two civilians were killed after Turkish drones targeted a double-wheeled pickup truck in Khanasur complex in north of Sinjar.

In January, five YBS fighters including a commander were killed in a Turkish strike in Sinune sub-district.
