Bafel Jalal Talabani provides aid for people affected by floods in Erbil

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Bafel Jalal Talabani provided aid for people affected by flash floods in Erbil on Friday.

Twelve people died after heavy rains triggered flash floods in several areas in Erbil early on Friday. The flooding also caused severe damages to cars and houses of civilians.

In a statement, Talabani said on Friday that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) was prepared to provide aid and support for the people affected by the floods.

Following his remarks, the first batch of Talabani’s aid arrived in Erbil on Saturday night.

Head of PUK office in Erbil Rebwar Ismail said the aid including food baskets would be distributed over 500 people in Qushtapa, Daratu and Roshinbiri neighborhoods.

“This is the first convoy and it will continue,” he told Esta Media Network.
