Iranian revolutionary guards shell villages in Sidakan northeast of Erbil

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iranian revolutionary guards shelled a number of villages in the Kurdistan Region’s sub-district of Sidakan on Thursday.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps shelled the villages of Barbzini, Katina and Bnaparez in Sidakan in northeast of Erbil on Thursday.

Mayor of Soran Maghdid Ahmed confirmed that three villages were shelled in the Sidakan sub-district.

Casualties or damages remained unclear.

Iran and Turkey sporadically bombard the Kurdistan Region’s areas on the border with both countries due to suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan.
