SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Ministry of Health said on Thursday that it had registered 3,522 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 79 deaths in the previous 24 hours.
The health ministry said in a statement that it had recorded 1,479 cases were in Baghdad, 281 in Erbil, 265 in Duhok, 247 in Sulaimani, 234 in Wasit, 162 in Diyala, 160 in Nineveh, 123 in Kirkuk and 115 in Basra.
The ministry further said it had logged 92 more cases in Karbala, 79 in Saladin, 78 in Diwaniyah, 71 in Maysan, 46 in Babil, 36 in Anbar, 27 in Dhi Qar, 14 in Muthanna and 13 in Najaf.
The health ministry added that 4,031 more patients had recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Iraq’s total number of infections reached 394,566 cases, of which 323,815 recovered and 9,683 died, according to the health ministry’s figures.
