SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Iraq exceeded 680,000 on Wednesday, the ministry of health said.
In a statement, the Iraqi health ministry said it had recorded 4,306 new cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours.
The ministry further said 1,424 cases were in Baghdad, 808 in Basra, 519 in Najaf, 340 in Karbala, 202 in Wasit, 202 others in Dhi Qar, 184 in Babil and 160 in Diwaniyah.
It added that it had registered 77 more cases in Erbil, 71 in Duhok, 64 in Maysan, 60 in Diyala, 53 in Kirkuk, 51 in Saladin, 34 in Muthanna, 28 in Sulaimani, 25 in Nineveh and four in Anbar.
The health ministry stated that 13 more patients had died from the virus over the last 24 hours, while 2,110 others had recovered.
The total number of coronavirus infections have reached 680,288, of which 625,447 recovered and 13,324 died, according to the ministry’s figures.
