SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An improvised explosive device (IED) hit a convoy for the U.S.-led Coalition forces in Baghdad on Thursday, according to Iraqi media.

Shafaaq News cited a security source as saying that the convoy transporting logistical support for the Coalition forces was targeted on a highway in south of Baghdad.

“The explosion did not cause casualties,” the source told Shafaaq News.

The Iraqi government or the Coalition has yet to confirm the attack.

The attack is the latest in a series of attacks on convoys supplying the Coalition forces, training the Iraqi security forces to fight Islamic State (ISIS) militants in the country.

On February 7, a contractor convoy belonging to the Coalition forces was targeted in Babil province, with no casualties or damages.

Two other convoys were targeted in Babil and Basra provinces on February 2.

No groups have claimed responsibilities for the attacks.

The United States blames Iran-backed militias for regular attacks on U.S. facilities and convoys in Iraq.
