Russia exempts certain Iraqi passport holders from entry visas

“This agreement comes within the vision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enhance the status of the Iraqi passport within the Ministerial Curriculum of the Iraqi Government.”

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Russia lifted entry visas for holders of private and diplomatic passports of Iraq following an agreement signed on Sunday.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed in a statement that it had signed an agreement with to Russia to exempt holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports from entry visas.

The agreement was signed on Sunday at the headquarters of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baghdad, where the Russian Ambassador Elburs Kutrashev attended.

The statement further stated that “this agreement comes within the vision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enhance the status of the Iraqi passport within the Ministerial Curriculum of the Iraqi Government.”
