SULAIMANI – (ESTA) Bafel Jalal Talabani, the president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), delivered a speech at the last carnival of the PUK’s 129 list in Erbil.
Some of the PUK president’s speech at the campaign:
-Oil and gas needs reform; we do not have an oil and gas policy; we have a policy of stealing oil and gas.
-I will tell you what we will end; we will end this regime; we will end what you cannot afford to do for the people, which is the simplest thing, which is salaries.
-There was no land left in Erbil. All the capitalists fled and went to Dubai.
-like Mr. Darbaz and Mr. Shalaw have said, Erbil for Erbilers and it is not only for the Kurds but also for Christians and Turkmen.
-We will teach you that you are human beings, not pharaohs. There used to be a party with fraud and zombies and finally, before the election started, it was known what the result would be, but this election is different.
-Look at the PUK today and see what it has done in three years. They believe that what has happened within the PUK is a coincidence. No, we set a strategy from the first day three years ago.
-Let the government be transparent; what is it afraid of? We will destroy the corruption of a minority within a party.
-There will be no fraud in the election. Your votes will decide. Give me half an hour, go vote for the PUK, four years of service for half an hour. Trust us. Fill the ballot boxes with votes. Let these pharaohs learn. I promise that we will revive Kurdishness and protect the dignity of our nation.
-I have a message for the true Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), not the minority that the KDP has drowned. To the sheikhs of Barzan, to those who are as dissatisfied as you are, to the families of martyrs and political prisoners, I am not against you. I am the enemy of the dictatorship that is destroying Kurdistan.
-How is your life, PDK members? No, it’s not good. I know they are not good because of maintenance. I’m sure you can’t express your opinion. The Barzanis have defamed you. Barzani and dictator are becoming synonymous in the world. Was this the policy of Sheikh Ahmad Barzan? You cursed my children. Is this Barzani’s morality? You have cursed our sanctuary. Is this morality?
-Once I met Mr. Massoud Barzani, his media wrote that he saw Bafel. A friend in PUK media wrote the opposite, which is I saw Massoud; I got crazy and locked PUK media for 3 months; this is our morality.
-Comrades Barzan, the real parties, the government is with us; we will not do that. I don’t have a program to bother you. Why should the martyrs be different?
-Do you think the martyrs of the PDK, their homes, children and grandchildren like this sale of land? No, they don’t like it ten times as much as you do.
-The real PDK and the Barzanis must send a message that we don’t like this enough.
-Barzani and the PDK, the solution to all this is very easy: either vote for the PUK or not vote for the PDK.
