SULAIMANI – (ESTA) On the eve of escalating conflict and missile attacks in the Middle East, Iraq is preparing to defend itself.
Tahsin Khafaji, head of the Iraqi security cell, said, “The Iraqi army has a high capacity to maintain security and peace in the country and a lot of money has been allocated by the state to improve the air force and buy anti-missile systems.”.
He said, “Efforts to enhance Iraq’s capabilities are at a good level and the army is being continuously trained and new weapons are being purchased.”.
Also, he mentioned, “Despite the cost and time of building air defense, Iraq takes it seriously and the government is committed to maintaining the country’s security and peace.”.
“Iraq has coordinated with several important companies, such as South Korean companies, which provide advanced technology; in addition, Iraq has various systems, including Russian, American, French and Korean,” the head of the Iraqi security cell said.
