SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A unit of the Iraqi military has detained four Kurdish civilians in Diyala province, their family said on Friday.

Rashid Mohammed, father of one of the detainees, said the four Kurdish civilians were detained in Jawl Izadin in Zinana sub-district near Kifri town on Thursday night as they were hunting.

“One of them is my son and two others are my nephews,” Mohammed told Esta Media Network.

“The fifth division of the Iraqi military opened fire at them at first then they detained them,” he said. “We have no information about them yet.”

The Iraqi military has yet to confirm the detention of the four civilians.
