The IHEC has released the latest voter registration statistics

SULAIMANI – (ESTA) The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has released the latest voter registration figures for the 6th Kurdistan Region’s parliamentary election.

Based on the IHEC’s available data, “out of 3 million 789 thousand 360 voters in the Kurdistan Region, 2 million 901 thousand 80 voters have been registered and received their biometric voting cards.”.

According to the statistics, “Sulaimani has the highest number of registered voters out of 1 million 496 thousand 152 voters, 1 million 146 thousand 530 voters, while Duhok has the lowest number of registered voters which is out of 926 thousand 746 voters, 738 thousand 193 voters have been registered.”.

In Erbil province, 1 million 16 thousand 357 voters have been registered out of 1 million 366 thousand 462 voters.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is scheduled to hold a parliamentary election on October 20, 2024.
