Bafel Jalal Talabani and USAID official discuss youth empowerment in Kurdistan

SULAIMANI – (ESTA) Bafel Jalal Talabani، President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan، held a meeting in Washington with Andrew Plitt، the Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Middle East region of USAID.

During the meeting، they focused on the role of youth in Kurdistan، their qualifications، and the development and training centers available to them.

Both parties emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation to create a conducive environment for youth development، guiding them toward a more prosperous future for Kurdish society.

The PUK President highlighted the significance of youth as a national asset in the Kurdistan Region، expressing his commitment to a new project aimed at mentoring and training them to become key contributors to the region’s development.

President Bafel asked the USAID official “to collaborate to implement comprehensive and modern projects in the Kurdistan Region to serve young people better.”

Talabani assured his readiness to provide the necessary support and facilities to empower Kurdish youth in various fields.
