SULAIMANI – (ESTA) Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received Maurizio Greganti, Ambassador of Italy to the Iraq and an accompanying delegation in Dabashan.
The meeting, which was attended by Michele Camerota, Consul General of Italy in the Kurdistan Region، emphasized the development and expansion of cooperation between the two sides in various fields in a manner that protects the highest interests and national values.
The PUK president praised the role of the Italian military advisors in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq within the framework of the international coalition forces that have played an active role in assisting and reorganizing the armed forces. “Their continued cooperation is a strong factor in fighting terrorism and maintaining regional stability،” he said.
The two sides agreed that the holding of fair and modern elections that will promote the democratic process is an important need and shows a brighter picture of the Kurdistan Region.
