SULAIMANI – (ESTA) According to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Tourism Board, “more than 200,000 tourists visited the Kurdistan Region during the Ramadan Eid.”
“Over 200,000 tourists visited the Kurdistan Region from April 8 to April 13 for Eid al-Fitr.” according to Ibrahim Abdulmajid, Director of Media and Communications for the KRG Tourism Board.
The majority of the visitors were from Turkey, Iran, central and southern Iraq, and other nations. In the meantime, the beaches and tourist destinations were frequented by over 150,000 domestic visitors to the Kurdistan Region.
The Tourism Board estimates that 3,100 locations—including tourist bases, hotels, eateries, motels, cafeterias, ballrooms and other tourist attractions—will be offering tourism services in 2023.
In addition, there are over 800 tourist eateries and cafeterias, hundreds of tourist bridges, and 1,750 tourist accommodations total, including 625 hotels, 370 motels and 80 tourist towns.
According to the KRG Tourism Board, “more than 1.7 million tourists will visit the Kurdistan Region in the first four months of 2024.”.
