SULAIMANI – (ESTA) Head of the ‘Lutka’ organization for managing immigration and requirements of internally displaced people, Ary Jelal, stated that in 2023 there were eighteen thousand immigrants within the borders of Belarus, Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania.
Data from 2023 indicates that there were twice as many immigrants as there were in 2022.
The Belarusian government has been charged by the European Union since 2021 with aiding and abetting illegal border crossings by immigrants.
