SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to embark on a diplomatic visit to Iraq this week, including the Kurdistan Region.
The Turkish top diplomat will be traveling to Iraq’s Baghdad on Wednesday, according to Ahmed Al-Sahaf, the spokesman for the Iraq Foreign Ministry.
The Turkish Foreign is scheduled to hold talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, and several other key political figures during his visit to Baghdad, Sahaf noted.
In the meantime, Turkey’s Fidan is also set to visit the Kurdistan Region’s capital, Erbil, on Thursday, where he is expected to meet with officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
KRG’s spokesman Peshawa Hawramani revealed that the Turkish Foreign Miniter will meet with the KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and his deputy Qubad Talabani.
He is also expected to meet with the Region’s President Nechiravn Barzani, according to Hawramani’s words.
