Deputy Prime Minister bids farewell to outgoing French Consul General

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Wednesday received the outgoing French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Oliver Decottignies.

The French diplomat paid a farewell visit to Talabani upon completion of his term in office, Talabani’s office in a statement read.

In the meantime, Talabani praised Decottignies for his social relations in every corner of the Kurdistan Region, enhancing historic Kurd-France relationships.

The French Consul also expressed his happiness upon the duty that he had been assigned in the Kurdistan Region, reaffirming his country’s commitment to supporting the Region.

He commended the Deputy Prime Minister’s role in carrying out reforms in different sectors in the direction of governance betterment in the Region.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the Kurdistan Region, during which the Deputy Prime Minister gifted a book to the French diplomat regarding the history of the Kurds.
