SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) extended its warmest congratulations to Muslims, especially in Kurdistan and Iraq on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
“Warmest congratulations to the Muslims around the world, especially in Kurdistan and Iraq, hoping for prosperous celebrations for everyone,” read a statement released by the PUK politburo.
“We hope this holy occasion strengthens the spirit of brotherhood, peace, and calmness in the region, and our nation observes all religious and national feasts in prosperity,” the statement concluded.
Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice, is celebrated by Muslims across the globe. It is the second major Muslim festival in the Islamic calendar after Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting.
This year, Muslims’ celebrations of Eid al-Adha will begin on June 28, and last for four days.
