SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani on Thursday received Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, in the city of Sulaimani.
In a meeting attended by senior Kurdish officials, including the Director of the Kurdistan Region’s information agency, the head of the security service agency (Asayish), and the director of Sulaimani police, the two sides discussed the country’s security situation.
They also talked about coordination between the security agencies of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, stressing expanding them.
In the meantime, Talabani affirmed his readiness to support all of Iraq’s interior forces, saying “Protecting the people’s lives and maintaining the region’s stability are the responsibility of all of us.”
“Persisting the coordination were factors for strength and further steps to combat outlaws, including anyone who endangers security of the country,” He added.
