SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region Deputy Premier Qubad Talabani on Wednesday received a high-ranking delegation from Germany including Jochen Flasbarth, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The Deputy Premier discussed with the delegation the internal issues of Kurdistan as well as the Yezidi-populated Sinjar situation, the Deputy Premier’s office in a statement said.
Deputy Premier Talabani told the delegation that “both the Federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) including the international community must importantly take the Yezidi community’s demands and opinions into account,” according to the statement.
The statement added that Deputy Premier Talabani also highlighted Kurdistan’s internal issues, and hoped the issues to be addressed as soon as possible.
“I hope we would be able to resolve the issues soon so that the government could serve all citizens and different areas of Kurdistan fairly and without discrimination, away from political and party conflict,” He said.
