SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A teenager in Erbil who had been gone missing in the past 13 days was found dead in Kasnazan neighborhood.

13-year-old Ayoub Ahmed had gone missing after walking out from his own house in Qarabu neighborhood in Erbil on January 24, according to CCTV footage.

Police had received a report earlier today that a body had been found near a dirty stream. The investigations and preliminary autopsy results had shown that it was the body of Ahmed.

“After days of continued search operations which were initiated by police, security forces, civil defense teams, and Erbil aviation team, including the Peshmerga ministry forces, a citizen had found a body,” said Erbil governor Omerd Khoshnaw.

“It was the body of Ahmed,” Khoshnaw added.

The Father of Ahmed had earlier said that his son who went missing had suffered from epilepsy which is a brain disorder disease.

The body of Ahmed remained in forensic medicine to identify the possible cause of his death which is still unclear.
