SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Talabani, met with Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement Qais Khazali in Baghdad on Sunday and said “Iraq’s situation rejects autocracy.”

In a meeting, the two sides emphasized unifying the national efforts and enduring constrictive discussions for the sake of succeeding in the political process of Iraq, said a statement from Talabani’s office.

They also stressed the implementation of the Iraqi government agenda which sees itself in enforcing the law as well as stability, according to the statement.

Discussions also touched upon administrating the state and preserving its stability, the office in the statement added.

In the meantime, Talabani referred to further coordination and cooperation between the political parties during the meeting with the Shiite leader.

“Iraq’s situation rejects autocracy in authority and administration,” Talabani told Khazali. “All parties must responsibly partake in the administrating country, and make a serious efficient step to address the issues,” he added.

“We have no pathway except for discussion and understanding and we must all work with that spirit,” Talabani stressed.
