SULAIMANI (ESTA) — President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Bafel Talabani met with the Head of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, on Monday in Baghdad.
In a meeting, the political changes and efforts to succeed in the reform “project” and parties’ support for the implementation of the government agenda were discussed, said Talabani’s media office in a statement.
The officials stressed the integration of the efforts for the sake of establishing national unity to fundamentally resolve the issues between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region.
They also laid emphasis on protecting the Kurdish people’s rights in the frame of the constitution, according to the statement.
PUK President reiterated the eagerness of his party for harmony and a united stance among the parties, the office in the statement added.
“Our goal is cooperation and making endeavors for the sake of protecting stability and building a bright future,” Talabani said during the meeting with Hakim.
“The program that has been presented by us which its points have been settled in the government agenda is for fulfilling these high objectives, seeing itself in combating corruption, offering service, equality, and protecting everyone’s rights,” he added.
