Ex-health employee in Erbil hijacks ambulance

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An ex-health employee in Erbil hijacked an ambulance but shortly after the suspect has been detained, police on Monday said. 

Police said the emergency department has received a call that an ex-health employee has hijacked an ambulance, escaping to an unknown destination.

Police have soon began the operation to find and locate the suspect.

“Briefly, our operatives could locate the ambulance and detained the suspect, it was located in Erbil’s 100-meter street nearby Rzgary public hospital,” police said.

Explaining more about the hijacking incident police also said that the suspect overused alcoholic drinks when he was detained.

“The suspect has been handed to Erbil’s Sarwaran police station to face prosecutions,” police added.
