SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least one person was shot dead after an argument broke out between two on Friday at a hookah lounge in Zakho district, police said.
Police said that at approximately around 2030 local time a shooting incident occurred at a hookah lounge in Zakho district of Duhok province northwest of the Kurdistan Region.
It soon reached the incident site and found out that one person aged 31 was shot dead after two engaged in an argument, according to the police.
A suspect has been detained and investigations have been launched as well.
It did not specify why they engaged in an argument but Initial reports said, the suspect has committed the crime with a pistol.
At least 215 homicide incidents have been recorded throughout 2021 in the Kurdistan Region, the police’s statistics said.
