SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkish police on Tuesday arrested a man who wounded one person during a knife attack on the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) office in Istanbul, according to Turkish media.
The assailant entered the HDP office in Istanbul’s Bahcelievler district and threated to kill everyone inside the building, Cumhuriyet newspaper reported.
The man later injured a person inside the building.
The HDP said in a tweet that Tuesday’s attack wasn’t “an isolated one”, according to The Associated Press.
“These attacks can’t intimidate us,” the Kurdish party tweeted. “Our people are giving the strongest response by protecting their party and will continue to do so.”
It was the second attack on an HDP office this year. In June, a gunman stormed the party’s office in Izmir province, killing a female employee.
