SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A rights watchdog said on Monday it had recorded at least 103 cases of human rights violations in Iranian Kurdistan in the past month.
Hengaw Organization for Human Rights released its monthly report on human rights violations in the Kurdish areas in Iranian Kurdistan, or Rojhalat.
The organization said four Kolbars (porters) were killed and six others were wounded.
One of the Kolbars was shot dead by the Iranian forces, it added.
Kolbars carry goods across the mountainous border between Iran, Iraq and Turkey on their backs. They frequently come under fire from Iranian border guards.
Regarding execution, Hengaw organization, which monitors human rights abuses in Iranian Kurdistan, said Iran had executed one Kurdish person in the past month.
Four other people died in prisons in Urmia and Sanandaj, it stated.
“Three of them died under torture,” the organization said.
Amnesty International said in its annual report that Iran had carried out at least 246 executions in 2020, securing the “shameful place of second top executioner worldwide”.
Hengaw further said one civilian was shot dead by the Iranian forces, while three others were wounded by the Iranian and Turkish forces.
At least 69 people, including three women and for boys below 18 years, were detained by the Iranian security forces during the period, Hengaw said in its report.
Six other people died in mine explosions, while six laborers died during work, according to the organization.
