24 people attempting to travel with ‘fake documents’ detained: airport

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Security forces at Sulaimani airport detained a group of people who were attempting to travel to Germany with “fake documents”, authorities said on Wednesday.

Sulaimani international airport said its security forces prevented a group of 24 tourists from traveling to Germany’s Dusseldorf on Tuesday after they were discovered by the residency center of the airport.

“We were able to prevent an attempt of fraudulent of a tourist group,” the airport said in a statement.

The airport further said the group held a “kind of document that has no official evidence for traveling abroad”.

They were transferred to police station at the airport for further investigation, it added.
