Kurdish man injured in Turkish airstrike northeast of Duhok: reporter

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A Kurdish man was wounded in a Turkish airstrike in the the Kurdistan Region’s sub-district of Kani Mase on Friday, Esta’s reporter said.

Esta Media Network reporter said Turkey conducted strikes on Hirure village in Amedi district, northeast of Duhok.

The strike wounded a 40-year-old man, who has five children, according to the reporter.

“He is a resident of Duhok city, but went to the village to water its garden,” he said.

Turkish warplanes and artillery intermittently bombard areas on the border between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey as part of its military campaign against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Around 10 civilians have been wounded since the Turkish army began a military operation against the PKK in Duhok province in April.
