3,691 more people diagnosed with coronavirus in Iraq: health ministry

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Ministry of Health said on Monday that 3,691 more people had been infected with COVID-19 in the previous 24 hours.

The health ministry said in a statement that 978 cases were recorded in Baghdad, 486 in Erbil, 452 in Duhok, 345 in Sulaimani, 201 in Nineveh, 178 in Wasit, 175 in Kirkuk, 159 in Diyala, 146 in Maysan and 118 in Saladin.

The ministry further said 86 other cases were in Basra, 85 in Najaf, 84 in Babil, 76 in Anbar, 42 in Karbala, 35 in Muthanna, 23 in Dhi Qar and 22 in Diwaniyah.

It added that 3,244 more patients had recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, while 48 others had died.

Iraq’s total number of infections reached 455,398, of which 384,593 recovered and 10,671 died, according to the ministry’s figures.
