Two children died in blast in displacement camp in Zakho – reporter

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Two children died in an explosion that took place in a displacement camp in the Kurdistan Region’s district of Zakho on Monday, Esta Media Network’s reporter said.

The reporter in Duhok said the blast occurred in one of the tents in Qadia camp for displaced Yazidis in Zakho late on Monday.

Two children who were one year and nine years died in the blast, while three others were injured, he added.

The security forces have launched an investigation to find out what caused the blast, he noted.

There are around 3,000 tents and caravans in the camp, where displaced Yazidis are sheltered.
