SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A Turkish drone bombed around Sardasht displacement camp on Sinjar mountain on Wednesday, according to Firat News Agency (ANF).

ANF reported that the Turkish drones were still flying over the mountain.

Photos circulated on social media showing a vehicle damaged in the air strike.

Casualties remained unclear.

The Sardasht camp was built in 2014 to shelter internally displaced persons (IDPs) who fled Islamic State (ISIS) attacks. There are currently 3,300 IDPs living in the camp.

Turkey has taken its decades-old conflict with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) deep into the Kurdistan Region, establishing military bases and deploying armed military drones against the fighters in their mountain strongholds.

Most of the operations have focused on territory up to 30 km (20 miles) from the border.
