SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The 24th Galawezh International Festival began in Sulaimani city on Tuesday, with focus on the culture of Iranian Kurdistan.
Galawezh, a literary festival in Sulaimani that has endured for two decades, is scheduled to continue for three days.
Head of Galawezh Cultural Center Ibtisam Ismael told Esta Media Network that a fewer number of people had been invited to the festival due to the coronavirus pandemic and financial situation.
“This year’s dialogue is about the culture of Rojhalat Kurdistan and most of the guests are from that part of Kurdistan,” Ismael said, referring to the Kurdish areas in northwestern Iran.
A number of figures and Iraqi authors also participated in the festival, held under the slogan of “Dialogue of Removing the Masks”.
