KRG denies reports that Israel’s Mossad base attacked in Kurdistan Region

File – KRG Spokesperson Jotiar Adil speaks to reporters in Erbil

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) denied reports on Wednesday that an Israel’s Mossad base was attacked in the Kurdistan Region.

Iranian media reported on Tuesday that an intelligence and special operations center in northern Iraq allegedly belonging to the Mossad was attacked by an “unidentified group”.

Iran’s Fars news agency said a “senior intelligence agent” was killed and several others were wounded in the attack.

“Those news reports are completely baseless, and this is not the first time that the Region has been accused of having a special center for Israeli intelligence on its territory,” Adil said in a statement.

“We believe that such baseless news and accusations are dangerous, and the only purpose of publishing such reports is a conspiracy against the Region and its political process,” he added.
