Arab league chief arrives in Baghdad

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit arrived in Baghdad on Saturday, according to Iraq’s state news agency.

The Arab league secretary-general will meet Iraqi President Barham Salih, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi and Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi during his visit, Shafaq News cited a government source as saying.

The officials will discuss the latest developments in Iraq and the region as well as strengthening Iraq’s role in the Arab league, according to Shafaq News.

Iraqi foreign minister Fuad Hussein and Aboul Gheit are expected to hold a press conference at the ministry’s building following their meeting.
