Iraqi parliament passes amendments to federal supreme court law

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Iraqi Council of Representatives on Thursday voted to amend the Federal Supreme Court Law of 2005 during a session boycotted by some Kurdish lawmakers. 

The amendment of the federal court law received a majority vote during a session in which 205 lawmakers attended.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) faction and Hiwa (hope) alliance boycotted the session, while the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc voted in favor.

The Iraqi parliament decided to hold a session on Friday to vote on the draft federal budget law.
