Kurdistan Region logs 793 new coronavirus cases, 31 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region logged 793 new COVID-19 infections and 31 deaths on Thursday, according to figures released by the health ministry.

In a statement, the Region’s ministry of health said it had registered 281 cases in Erbil, 166 in Sulaimani, 26 in Garmian, 31 in Raparin, 265 in Duhok and 24 in Halabja.

The ministry added that it had recorded four new deaths in Erbil, 13 in Sulaimani, six in Raparin, four in Duhok and four more in Halabja.

Up to 338 more patients had recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, the health ministry stated.

So far, the Region has recorded 53,549 COVID-19 infections, with 1,937 deaths and 33,650 recoveries, the ministry of health said.
