SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Co-president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Bafel Talabani on Tuesday stressed on dialogue to tackle political issues in the Kurdistan Region.
Talabani met with Czech Consul-General to the Kurdistan Region Michal Svoboda in Sulaimani city on Tuesday, according to a statement by the PUK co-leader’s office.
Both sides discussed the latest political, security and economic developments in the Kurdistan Region as well as the situation in the region.
“Bafel Talabani … stressed on the language of negotiation and understanding to solve the political issues and to find appropriate solutions to crises facing the region,” the statement cited Talabani as saying.
“Rights and demands of people are our priority and our efforts continue to secure people’s payment and to provide a better life,” Talabani said. ‘
He called on the Kurdistan Region’s parties and forces to work together and cooperate to secure rights of the Region’s people and to avoid individuals’ and parties’ interests, according to the statement.
