SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdish lawmaker in the Iraqi Council of Representatives Ghalib Mohammed has been stabbed in Sulaimani city on Friday.

A person close to the lawmaker told Esta Media Network that a group of people attacked Mohammed outside his house in Sulaimani city on Friday evening.

“The lawmaker was stabbed in face, and he is now at Shar Hospital in Sulaimani,” the person said.

A source in Shar Hospital told Esta Media Network that Mohammed was stabbed in face and head with “knives and brass knuckles”.

“He has received necessary treatment and might be discharged at the hospital in the coming hours,” said the source, who spoke under condition of anonymity.

“In a phone call, I … ensured them that such coward acts will not be accepted from anybody,” Talabani said in a tweet.
