Kurdistan Region records 886 new COVID-19 infections, 29 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region registered 886 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 29 deaths on Wednesday, health authorities said in a statement.

The Region’s ministry of health said it had recorded 358 cases in Erbil, 176 in Sulaimani, 29 in Garmian, 303 in Duhok and 20 in Halabja.

The health ministry further said it had logged two deaths in Erbil, 15 in Sulaimani, three in Garmian, one in Raparin, six in Duhok and two in Halabja.

As many as 566 more patients had recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said.

So far, the Kurdistan Region has recorded 52,756 coronavirus cases, with 1,906 deaths and 33,312 recoveries.
