Iraq recorded 3,672 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours: health ministry

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq registered 3,672 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 49 deaths in the previous 24 hours, the ministry of health said on Saturday.

In a statement, the ministry said it had recorded 1,505 new cases in Baghdad, 333 in Dhi Qar, 264 in Basra, 263 in Duhok, 158 in Wasit, 141 in Nineveh, 139 in Diyala, 128 in Sulaimani, 125 in Maysan and 103 in Erbil.

The ministry further said it had logged 90 more cases in Kirkuk, 77 in Najaf, 63 in Babil, 58 in Diwaniyah, 47 in Karbala, 33 in Anbar, 27 in Saladin and 18 un Muthanna.

The health ministry added that 3,861 more patients had recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Iraq reached 375,931, of which 303,665 recovered and 9,347 died, according to the Iraqi ministry’s figures.
