SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein arrived in Athens on Thursday for talks with senior Greek officials.

Hussein will hold talks with his Greek counterpart, the minister of immigration and a number of other officials during his visit to Athens, the Iraqi foreign ministry said in a statement.

In October, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias paid a visit to Iraq and met with Hussein, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi and President Barham Salih.

Dendias and Hussein signed a number of memorandum of understandings on trade relations between Iraq and Greece.

Hussein said strengthening and developing trade relations between Iraq and Greece was also important as the latter relies on Iraq’s crude oil for its needs by 50%.

“Greece is an important partner for Iraq and has a wide experience in the field of energy,” Hussein said
