SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A convoy for the U.S.-led Coalition forces was targeted in Babil province on Sunday, Iraqi state news agency reported.

National Iraqi News Agency reported that a convoy transporting logistical support for the Coalition forces was targeted near al-Musayyib area in Babil, without providing further details.

The Iraqi government or the Coalition has yet to confirm the attack.

The attack is the latest in a series of attacks on convoys supplying the Coalition forces, training the Iraqi security forces to fight Islamic State (ISIS) militants in the country.

On February 2, two contractor convoys for the Coalition forces were targeted in Babil and Basra provinces.

The United States blames Iran-backed militias for regular attacks on U.S. facilities and convoys in Iraq.
