SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) led by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani will visit Baghdad again next week, according to a statement.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with the delegation in Erbil on Thursday to discuss its talks with members of Iraqi Council of Representatives this week, the premier’s office said in a statement.

The delegation visited Baghdad on Sunday. It included minister of finance and economy Awat Sheikh Janab, minister of planning Dara Rashid, minister of state Khalid Shwani and head of Kurdistan Region presidency’s diwan Omed Sabah.

The KRG delegation held talks with Iraqi parliament’s deputy speakers Hassan Kaabi and Bashir Hadad as well as members of parliament’s committee of finance to discuss the Region’s share of the federal budget for 2021.

“Talks will continue to reach an agreement on the basis of Iraqi constitution, which secures the Kurdistan Region’s rights and financial entitlements,” the PM’s office said following the meeting between Barzani and the delegation.

“The delegation is set to return to Baghdad next week,” it added.

Talabani who led a high-level delegation to Baghdad said in December that Erbil and Baghdad had reached an agreement over the 2021 federal budget bill, approved by the Iraqi Council of Ministers in the same month.

The draft budget law commits the Kurdistan Region to export 250,000 bpd through Baghdad in exchange for the Region’s share of the federal budget, which is set at 12.67%.

Earlier on Wednesday, deputy speaker of Kurdistan parliament Hemin Hawrami said issues between Erbil and Baghdad was on article 11 of the draft federal budget law, which demands the Region to hand over oil to Baghdad.
