5.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Syria-Iraq border region – EMSC

A moderately strong earthquake jolts Kurdistan-Iran border region

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A moderately strong earthquake jolted the border region between Syria and Iraq on Tuesday, according to European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The EMSC said the epicenter of the quake with 5.2 magnitude was located 62 kilometers southeast of al-Hasakah city in Syria.

The earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers, it added.

There was no immediate report of casualties or damages.
