SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Three civilians were wounded in a Turkish airstrike in the Kurdistan Region’s district of Amedi, a local official said on Friday.

Director of Chamanke sub-district Aland Amir told Esta Media Network that Turkish warplanes bombed a vehicle belonging to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) near Gre village in the sub-district at 02:00 p.m. on Friday.

“Three civilians whose house were close to the place of the airstrike were wounded,” the official said.

Two of the wounded were transferred to a hospital in Chamanke while the other was transferred to Duhok emergency hospital due to his “severe injury”, according to the official.

Turkey intermittently carries out airstrikes and artillery shelling against suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party on the Kurdistan Region’s border areas with Turkey and Iran.
