Kurdistan Region reports 684 new COVID-19 cases, 21 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region registered 684 new cases of COVID-19 and 21 deaths on Thursday (October 1), the health ministry said in a statement.

The Region’s ministry of health said it had recorded 229 new infections, 60 in Sulaimani, 30 in Garmian, 337 in Duhok and 28 in Halabja in the previous 24 hours.

The ministry further said there were two new deaths in Erbil, 10 in Sulaimani, one Garmian and eight Duhok.

Up to 283 more patients had recovered from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the health ministry added.

The total number of infections in the Kurdistan Region has reached 48,494, of which 30,888 recovered and 1,770 died, according to the health ministry.
